Pros: - Some units (not all) have a washer - there's usually a spot in a garage available for an extra cost - the building has an elevator - The pet friendly for extra cost - It feels like almost all tenants rent by the room, so it’s easier to find roommates and share the rental cost. - Mostly young residents—can be a plus if that’s what you're looking for. Cons: Noise and building structure are the biggest issues. The walls and floors incredibly well transmit the noize. You’ll hear your neighbors walking, talking, using their washing machines—and it often feels like the sound is happening inside your own apartment. Front doors slamming in nearby units shake the walls in the entire unit. In certain layouts you can clearly hear people walking in the corridor as if they’re in the room with you. We hear when our neighbors above go to sleep. A neighboors' washing machine shakes the plates and glasses in a kitchen just if there is a small earthquake for 10 final minutes of the machine's cycle . The building seems to be rented more like a dorm than a residence—many tenants sublease individual rooms, so there's constant foot traffic and weekend gatherings. Normally, that wouldn’t be a problem, but the lack of soundproofing turns even casual activity into a disturbance. If you’re looking for peace, this is a major downside. I wake up almost every weekend night, when our neighboors get back at 2-3am with their friends. Feel free to test the floor yourself. Walk the entire unit (squeaky sound almost everywhere, the entire room shakes on a light jump) Move-in experience was disappointing: the apartment was quite dirty, a few shelves were broken, blinds were damaged, and internet outlets were painted over. Locks didn’t work properly. The entrance hallway has no A/C, so deliveries are stored in a very warm space in summer. Hot water only runs for about 10 minutes in winter—not enough even for two people to shower back-to-back. Common areas are poorly maintained—walls have dents, areas feel dirty. The second bedroom layout is questionable in some units—glass doors instead of proper doors, no outside-facing window, just a ceiling window into the main bedroom. Not sure if it's qualified as a bedroom officially. Both bedrooms in some units had odd structural pillars a foot off the corner, which made parts of the room hard to use. It feels like the current prices for these apartments are unjustifiable. There are no amenities, and all utilities on the tenant, pricing is far above market given the build quality. Also there is a broker fee, which wasn't justified for what we walked into. Final thoughts: The apartments might work for some, but the build quality—especially the noise—is a dealbreaker for anyone who values peace, privacy, or long-term comfort.
